Facilitator: Jolene Heida

MSW, RSW

Jolene (she/her/kwe) is of Métis (Cree-Scots), Ukrainian, and European ancestry. She was born and raised in Northwestern Ontario on the Robinson-Superior Treaty territories and currently resides with her family in the area known as Tkaronto. She is a PhD Candidate at York University, where she specializes in Indigenous social work and decolonial approaches to teaching and learning. Jolene is a Registered Social Worker and trauma therapist with over 25 years of leadership experience in community, government, and healthcare settings. In addition to training with CTRI, Jolene owns a private practice which focuses on combining Indigenous knowledge, land-based practices, and trauma-focused therapy to support healing for individuals and communities. Jolene is a passionate educator, researcher, and clinician whose work emphasizes collaborative relationships, self-determination, and heartfelt connections.
