Trainers and Consultants

Carolyn is a Registered Social Worker and the owner of Carrier Counselling & Consulting in London, Ontario. She began her career in forensic and community corrections settings, providing case management, risk assessment, psychoeducation groups, and staff training, before moving into direct clinical practice in 2013. She has since worked in community-based crisis support for women experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, in hospital-based outpatient therapy for people recovering from developmental and relational trauma, and, more recently, in court-related parenting assessments alongside ongoing trauma-informed clinical care. 

Carolyn is a Certified EMDR Therapist and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. She is also the author of Dear Self: A Journey Through Trauma & Healing and its companion workbook series, which translate therapeutic concepts into accessible tools for people at different stages of their healing. 

Carolyn is passionate about making trauma-informed care practical, whether she is working in the therapy room, supervising an associate, or facilitating learning that participants can carry directly into their own practice. She believes healing happens in layers and that the right tool, offered at the right moment, can help a person take the next step forward.
