Learn how to prevent violence in your community!

We’re the Crisis & Trauma Resource Institute (CTRI), and we’re inviting you to a FREE de-escalation training on October 22nd, 9 AM – 4 PM at 745 Westminster Ave.

You’ll connect with others in your community and learn trauma-informed ways to bring calm to tense situations.

If you’re in downtown Winnipeg, you’ve seen the ripple effects of trauma.

When you consider how trauma might be influencing someone who’s emotionally charged, everything changes. You’re not just defusing tension – you’re meeting the person with empathy and building trust.

In this free workshop, you’ll learn a trauma-informed approach to defuse dangerous situations with confidence, interpersonal communication skills, and empathy.

Here’s what’s in store for the day:

  • Trauma-informed training from a West Broadway addictions specialist
  • A workshop manual and printed guide to de-escalation
  • A certificate of completion
  • Snacks!
  • Time to connect with your community
