Melissa (she/her) is a Canadian Certified Counsellor, Psychotherapist, and Psychoeducator. She has over 15 years of clinical experience providing support to children, youth, families, and adults in the areas of mental health, trauma, resilience, and wellness. Additionally, she brings extensive experience in teaching, curriculum development, and facilitation. Melissa currently serves as a counsellor at Yukon University, offering counselling services to students facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, substance use, and trauma.

Melissa believes in the transformative power of human resilience and the capacity for change through meaningful relationships and a holistic approach to wellness. Her work is rooted in relationship-building, compassion, and empowerment, helping individuals tap into their innate wisdom and potential. Melissa is dedicated to reconciliation through ongoing learning and unlearning, and to integrating trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approaches into all aspects of her practice. As a trainer, Melissa brings warmth, humility, and authenticity, fostering inclusive and engaging spaces for participants to learn, reflect, and share their knowledge, values, and stories.
