Meg Olmstead

RSW

Location: Ontario

Meg (Soaring White Eagle Woman and Sacred Clear Rock) is a Registered Social Worker in Treaty One Territory and was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is Ojibwe, Metis, and Settler from St Peters Reserve with ties to Peguis First Nation. She has frontline experience with many social services and community challenges here in Treaty One Territory, including poverty, houselessness, school social work, and mental health and youth therapy. Meg has had the honour and privilege to work both behind the scenes in office spaces and on the ground with the community to help people get the supports and services they need for the past 13 years.

Meg is a community auntie, gift giver, educator, Sundancer, Jingle Dress dancer, and ceremony carrier who has been following the red road of ceremony for 19 years. She owes a lot to the Elders who have sat with her in hard times, taught her so much about life, and helped her find her way through discovering her passions. Meg believes that healing happens in relationship – with community, with culture, and with the teachings passed down from our Elders – and that every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and connected to who they are.
