Donna is Metis with extensive familial roots in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Donna was born and raised in the city of Regina—originally known as “Pile of Bones”, the English translation of the Cree word oskana kâ-asastêki. Donna moved to Beaver Hills in 1989 (Amiskwaciy) known as the City of Edmonton where she obtained her Master of Social Work degree and raised her own family. Donna has over thirty years of professional experience in child intervention, governance, legislation, policy, non-profit, municipal, provincial, federal, post-secondary, early learning, and K-12 education with extensive board, consultant, and leadership experience.

Donna enjoys engaging in her spiritual connections through making traditional moccasins, gloves, skirts, tufting, drum making, looming, and beading. Donna is passionate about leading from the heart with curiosity, being a lifelong learner, and values sharing her experiences with others, and the communities and organizations she visits.
