Trainers and Consultants

Alanah has over 15 years of professional experience in the Health, Education and Community Organizations serving Nunavik and Eeyou Istchee. She holds an MSW specialised in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency, and brings a trauma-informed approach to her various roles, which have included school counseling; training school teams; and developing health-promotion programs that address topics like substance use, suicide, and sexual abuse prevention. Most recently, she contributed to developing and coordinating the Youth and Family Program within a residential treatment centre, where she worked with an Indigenous-led team to integrate clinical and cultural expertise in the recovery process.

Passionate about facilitating training for diverse audiences, Alanah uses experiential activities that integrate course content with learners’ personal and professional experience, in order to strengthen their reflective practice and resilience skills. She is a bilingual Montrealer with Québecois, Welsh, and Egyptian ancestry.
