About this Workshop

This five-day training explores trauma’s emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual impacts. Beginning with how trauma affects the brain and nervous system, you’ll explore a framework for managing and resolving trauma, along with valuable strategies for trauma counselling.

You will learn to establish safety, manage flashbacks, heal through holistic body-oriented strategies, and promote resilience and post-traumatic growth. The last day of the program will be an integrative experience where you will examine your own experiences of vicarious trauma, so you can develop a personalized coping plan. The last day will also have opportunities to apply what you’ve learned to a variety of complex case studies.

This is an intermediate level workshop for social service and health care professionals, counsellors, social workers, school personnel, and anyone supporting people who have experienced trauma.
