Indigenous Training Development Specialist

Patricia (she/her) is Métis and was born, raised, and resides with her family on Treaty 1 Territory. She is a registered counsellor who utilizes evidence-based, person-centered, trauma-informed, experiential approaches. Patricia believes in incorporating laughter as medicine into her work. She serves as a therapist, mentor, and advocate for youth in child welfare and supports Indigenous students in navigating their identity and sense of belonging. Patricia is certified in addictions and as a Mental Health First Aid First Nations facilitator, focusing on mental wellness in First Nations communities. She incorporates traditional Indigenous teachings and consults with community Elders for guidance.

As CTRI’s Indigenous Training Development Specialist, Patricia utilizes a two-eyed seeing, holistic approach to integrate Indigenous knowledge and Western perspectives to create culturally relevant materials that support CTRI’s core beliefs and reconciliation initiatives. She walks with a toolbox and a sacred bundle, and emphasizes that relationships, including the one with oneself, are central to everything.
