Learning how to connect with the land and all living things has profound benefits for our mental and environmental health. It strengthens our personal identity and helps us grow meaningful connections and relationships.

This workshop explores Indigenous and non-Indigenous land-based wellness practices to provide a wholistic, two-eyed seeing approach to wellness. You will learn how to use land-based activities to help others connect with the land and themselves.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants should be able to:

  • Identify who they are, their connections, and where they come from
  • Describe the foundations of land-based wellness practices
  • List key components of land-based healing
  • Illustrate principles of land-based wellness practices
  • Identify steps for developing a land-based wellness practice
  • Summarize the connection to land and its environmental impact

Presentation, personal reflection, small group discussions, experiential practice, land-based activities.
