Sarah is a registered Clinical Counsellor and holds a Master’s degree in Somatic Psychology. Since 2003, she has worked in a variety of clinical settings in North America, Europe and the Middle East (Iraq and Jordan), including inpatient psychiatry and addiction services, community mental health and Doctors Without Borders. Sarah has fulfilled a variety of roles including psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, educator and program manager. In addition to her clinical work, she is a trained facilitator in Trauma-Informed Practice for mental health and addictions teams within Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and other health authorities across BC. Sarah believes that people have the capacity to move beyond their suffering and the limited stories they believe about themselves, when the environment is safe enough. She is committed to providing a compassionate learning environment that preserves individual dignity, shared knowledge exchange and collaborative learning. As a presenter, Sarah is personable, warm and humorous.
