Trainers and Consultants

Briar’s career in the helping profession has spanned over twenty years. She is a Registered Nurse, as well as a Registered Clinical Counsellor who holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology and a Doctorate degree that combines the areas of psychology, health, and education. In addition to training with CTRI, Briar is a Professor in Counselling Psychology, and has a private practice where she specializes in working with clients who have issues related to anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and depression. She believes in learning alongside her clients, and that a foundation of mutual client-counsellor respect is integral to the counselling relationship. Briar hopes to assist all people in living authentic lives that recognize the unique potential that exists within all of us. She is a dynamic and enthusiastic trainer that seeks to ensure participants are thoroughly engaged and inspired, while gaining practical skills that are easily applied to each individual’s unique work environment.
