Certificate in Crisis and Trauma Response

CTRI's 15 day Certificate Program in Crisis and Trauma Response provides participants an opportunity to develop a set of competencies to effectively respond to unfortunate critical incidents

How it works

Participants interested in receiving their Certificate in Crisis and Trauma Response first must register for the program. Upon completion of fourteen days of training, participants will receive their final day of training completely free. The required workshops must be completed within 5 years of registering for the certificate program.

The certificate requires 9 days of training in the core workshops:

Trauma - Strategies for Resolving the Impact of Post Traumatic Stress
Crisis Response Planning
Critical Incident Group Debriefing
Depression - Practical Intervention Strategies
Anxiety - Practical Intervention Strategies
Motivating Change - Strategies for Approaching Resistance
Violence Threat Assessment - Planning and Response

Elective workshops
Choose 6 days in total from the following 11 listed workshops

Counselling Skills - An Introduction and Overview
Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention Strategies
Understanding Mental Illness
Restorative Justice - Guiding Principles for Communities and Organizations
Family Violence - Working Towards Solutions
De-escalating Potentially Violent Situations
Disordered Eating - From Image to Illness
Gender and Sexual Identity in Youth
Self-Injury Behaviour in Youth - Issues and Strategies
Substance Abuse and Youth - Creating Opportunities for Change

PLEASE NOTE:  Webinars are not eligible to be applied towards the certificate program.

There is a $100 registration fee
Registering allows us to track your progress in working towards the certificate. In addition, we are able to help you choose the elective workshops that are most beneficial to you. We are able to accept your attendance at workshops retrospectively to 2010 towards your certificate as long as there is proof of participation. Upon registration, please contact us at info@ctrinstitute.com if you have retroactive attendance you would like applied towards your certificate.
